The Refill Co. was born after years spent dreaming, researching, wondering and finally - acting.
For a long time we were stuck on the idea that 'somebody' should be offering home and body products in bulk, until finally deciding we were going to build a refill store in Thunder Bay that the community could benefit from. We started small and are committed to continuing to grow and help our beautiful community live more sustainably. Our dreams are big and we are looking forward to accomplishing them in beautiful Northwestern Ontario.
We are passionate about our community finding new ways to help our environment by introducing them to wonderful, affordable, sustainable products that don’t feel like a compromise.
The goal is to help everyone realize that living more sustainably and reducing single use plastic doesn’t have to be expensive or be a lot of work! A lot of research goes into the products we select to ensure that we believe in their impact and effectiveness. There are so many companies out there working to create amazing, eco-friendly products and we strive to stock as many as we can on our shelves!
We work hard to find natural products that are cruelty free, free of harmful chemicals and are, as often as possible, Canadian made. We are amazed by the talent in our area and are proud to feature many local businesses and makers in our shop as well.
We are Jen and Sarah, sisters who have grown up in the Murillo area for the past 25+ years. We're passionate about nature, our environment and doing all we can to preserve the beauty that it contains. As adults, we have spent years trying countless products and practices designed to help reduce our personal environmental footprints. Once we became mothers, we became even more determined to live sustainably and to use more natural and beneficial products in our homes. We are so thrilled to share some of our favourite products and the wonderful world of refilling with all of you!
